WCAG 2.1 AA Compliance & Mitigation Documentation
The following accessibility audit was conducted by Custody & Agency in accordance with the Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA. Our evaluation process incorporated multiple testing
methodologies to ensure comprehensive coverage:
1. Automated Scanning: All pages were scanned using Google Lighthouse, Axe DevTools, and WAVE
Evaluation Tool to identify violations including missing alt attributes, contrast failures, and structural
issues.
2. Manual Keyboard Navigation: All interactive components were navigated using keyboard-only
input, verifying logical tab order, visible focus indicators, and the ability to activate all controls without a
pointing device.
3. Screen Reader Testing: Pages were reviewed using NVDA with Firefox and Windows Narrator with
Microsoft Edge on Windows to verify semantic markup is interpreted correctly, form labels are announced, and
error states are communicated to assistive technologies.
4. Color & Contrast Validation: All text and interactive element combinations were
validated using the WebAIM Contrast Checker and TPGi Colour Contrast Analyser, targeting a minimum ratio of
4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
5. Responsive & Zoom Testing: All pages were tested at 100%, 200%, and 400% browser zoom
levels to verify reflow compliance and no loss of content or functionality.
